The Fred D. Thompson U.S. Courthouse project introduced a six-story federal facility in downtown Nashville featuring a segmented glass façade, domed rotunda, and over 45,000 sq. ft. of blast-resistant unitized curtainwall. Physical Security (PS) provided the complete glazing package, including custom-engineered curtainwall, AT/FP-rated exterior glazing, insulated laminated glass units, interior storefront systems, and precision interface detailing with precast and metal panel components. The project required solving complex façade geometry, coordinating AT/FP requirements through iterative engineering and 3D BIM, and managing tight urban site logistics with just-in-time delivery and sequenced installation. PS’s specialized government experience and rigorous field execution produced a secure, durable, and architecturally consistent envelope that supports both the building’s civic presence and its long-term performance.
